Golf Society Rules – Champion Golfer of the Year

1. Leaderboard Eligibility

A player must complete a minimum of three (3) qualifying rounds during the season to be eligible for inclusion on the Society Leaderboard and to compete for the title of Champion Golfer of the Year.

For the purposes of these rules, the Final Day is not a qualifying round and is not included in any season leaderboard calculations.

2. Society Leaderboard

The Society Leaderboard recognises season-long consistency.

Players will be ranked according to the average of their best three (3) qualifying net scores achieved during the season. Rankings will be ordered from the lowest average score to the highest.

Only qualifying rounds played before the Final Day will be considered.

3. Champion Golfer of the Year

The title of Champion Golfer of the Year is determined separately from the Society Leaderboard to reward both consistent performance throughout the season and excellence in the season finale.

For each eligible player:

  1. Calculate the average of the player's best three (3) qualifying net scores.
  2. Add the player's Final Day net score.
  3. Divide the total by two (2) to produce the player's Championship Score.

The player with the lowest Championship Score will be declared the Champion Golfer of the Year.

Example

  • Best three qualifying net scores: E, +3, +6
  • Best-three average: +3.0
  • Final Day net score: +2
  • Championship Score: (+3.0 + +2) ÷ 2 = +2.5

4. Tie-Breaks

If two or more players finish with the same Championship Score, the title of Champion Golfer of the Year will be decided using the following tie-break sequence:

  1. Lowest Final Day net score.
  2. Lowest Final Day net score for the back nine holes (holes 10–18).
  3. Lowest Final Day net score for the last six holes (holes 13–18).
  4. Lowest Final Day net score for the last three holes (holes 16–18).
  5. Lowest Final Day net score on the 18th hole.

If players remain tied after all of the above tie-breaks have been applied, the title of Champion Golfer of the Year will be shared.

This format rewards consistent performance throughout the season while ensuring that the Final Day is the decisive event in determining the Champion Golfer of the Year.
